Porter (えきいんさん in Japanese) is a monkey who works at the Train Station in the games in which it appears. He first appeared in Dōbutsu no Mori, then he returned in Animal Crossing: New Leaf. In Wild World and City Folk he does not appear because there is no station, which is replaced by the Gate.

Appearance

Porter in Animal Crossing (GCN).

Porter is a brown monkey with a pale yellow face, feet, and hands. He wears a station porter's outfit which consists of a navy blue jacket with gold buttons on it. Also, he wears a hat with red and yellow stripes and a gold, medal-like symbol in the center.

Appearances

Animal Crossing (GCN)

In Animal Crossing (GCN), Porter works at the train station, where talking to him will allow players to visit other players.

Animal Crossing: New Leaf

Porter returns after his absence in Animal Crossing: Wild World and Animal Crossing: City Folk. In this game he returns to take charge of the train station. By talking to him, he will allow the player to visit other towns or allow other players to go to yours.

Trivia

  • He is very similar to the villager Champ.
  • Porter does not appear in video games where the villager Champ appears and vice versa. This changes starting with Animal Crossing: New Horizons, where neither of them appear. It has been theorized that they are the same character, but their dates of birth do not coincide.
  • If you go to a town station during a dream, Porter will tell the player how many people have visited the town or the players who have left it.
  • Porter has a crutch. In older versions of Animal Crossing he is Iic! while in Animal Crossing: New Leaf his catchphrase becomes Uuh! Both are onomatopoeia of the noise that monkeys make.
