Lion

From Animal Crossing Wiki
Jump to navigationJump to search

Lions are a species of villager in the Animal Crossing series. They are one of three types of large cat that appear in the franchise. They have small ears set high on their heads, broad rectangular noses, and also possess tufts of fur at the end of their tails, similar to the elephants, rhinos, and bovines. So far, all lion villagers are male and all of them possess manes.

There are nine lion villagers so far. There are four jock lions, two cranky lions, one lazy lion, and two smug lions, one of whom, Leopold, was previously a jock. Out of all the lions, only Aziz and Jūbei have not reappeared since Dōbutsu no Mori e+.

Trivia

  • Since Bud, who debuted in Dōbutsu no Mori+, was the only lion to appear in Animal Crossing: Wild World, this makes lions one of two villager species in Animal Crossing: Wild World to not have any villagers returning from Dōbutsu no Mori. The other species with this distinction is the Bull.
  • Of all Lions available in New Leaf and New Horizons, all are born in Summer, specifically in July and August. This could be a reference to the astrological sign, Leo, of which members of this sign are born in the latter part of July to the middle of August.
