Shari (シェリー, Sherī) is a sisterly monkey villager who first appeared in Animal Crossing: New Leaf. Her catchphrase, "cheeky", may relate to her having round cheeks, or how monkeys are often described as being "cheeky". She has the music hobby. Shari's name is likely derived from Shari Lewis, a puppeteer known for playing Lamb Chop.

Appearance

Shari is a white and grey monkey. Her ear innards and cheeks are a red-pink color, and she has three small eyelashes poking out of each of her eyes. The tips of her limbs are a banana-yellow. She is likely based on a squirrel monkey. Shari wears the Silk Bloom Tee in Animal Crossing: New Leaf, and a blue Garden Tank in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. She carries a Lacy Parasol as her umbrella.

Personality

Shari is a sisterly villager. When befriended, she will give the player fighting tips and teach them ways to relax. Shari will also give the player medicine if they are stung by a wasp. Like all sisterly villagers, Shari is tough, but she will still care deeply about her appearance. Shari has a tendency to stay up very late at night. It is easy to get her picture since developing friendships with sisterly villagers is simple due to her caring and protective nature, sometimes talking to the player about her friendship with her old neighbor's son. Shari may get along with jock villagers who share her love of sports, lazy and normal villagers for how laid-back they are, and peppy villagers. However, she may conflict with smug and snooty villagers due to their arrogant nature. Shari may clash with cranky villagers due to their similarly stubborn personalities, but often end up becoming best friends.

House

In Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Shari's house has an exotic theme. She owns many items from the Cabana Series, including the bed, the screen, the chair, and the table. She also owns an Exotic Lamp, a sitar, and a conga drum. Shari has a Retro Stereo that plays K.K. Oasis.

In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Shari has predominantly purple and black furniture. From the Rattan set, she has a rattan vanity, rattan armchair, rattan low table, rattan waste bin, rattan wardrobe, and a rattan end table with a rattan towel basket. She also has a black marble long bathtub, a purple rose bed, hanging terrarium, and an iron shelf. For wallpaper, she uses the Purple Desert-Tile Wall, and for flooring, she uses the Rosewood Flooring.
