Megaphone
- This article is about the tool item exclusive for the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition of Animal Crossing: New Horizons. For the specific New Horizons item pages that are labelled as a megaphone, see Fiery cheer megaphone, Football cheer megaphone, Glittery cheer megaphone, and Starry cheer megaphone.
The megaphone is a tool item in Animal Crossing: New Horizons introduced in the Template:NHVer. Its functionality is exclusive to the Animal Crossing: New Horizons – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition.
Pressing Template:Input on the controller enables the microphone of the Nintendo Switch 2 to pick up the player's voice and read the names of villagers and special characters. This alerts said character to the player's presence via a bubble text. If used while they're on-screen, they'll be alarmed and greet the player if they're relatively nearby and in sight, while using it close to them will shock them; villagers that live on the island will complain and either get upset or angry, losing a friendship point.[1] Attempting to use the megaphone outside of the player's island, or on a non-Animal Crossing: New Horizons – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition of the game will net some feedback static preventing use. The player is also unable to use the megaphone when other players are on the island.
The megaphone can be purchased from Nook's Cranny for 3,500 bells. It will only appear for users of the Animal Crossing: New Horizons – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition.
