Hey! Stop following me!
― Gloria, Animal Crossing: City Folk

Gloria (スワンソン, Suwanson) is a snooty duck villager in the Animal Crossing series, a new character that first appeared in Animal Crossing: City Folk. Both her Japanese and English name refer to Gloria Swanson, a famous actress and singer who was well-known in silent films. Her catchphrase is "quacker", a play on the sound that ducks make. She appears on the album cover for K.K. Adventure. She has the fashion hobby.

Appearance

Gloria is an off-white duck with violet hair, pink wingtips and tail, and reddish bill and feet. She has mascara lashes under her eyes and sky eyeshadow. Her initial shirt is the Corseted Shirt, and she carries the Zebra Umbrella on rainy days.

Personality

Gloria has a snooty personality, which means she loves makeup and gossiping. As a snooty villager, Gloria will first appear rude and arrogant towards the player, often talking about herself and her own experiences. She also speaks about the style and appearance of other villagers, usually other female villagers such as normal, peppy, and other snooty villagers. She will soon warm up to the player, confiding in them about their own feelings but still keeping subtly rude. Gloria will not get along with lazy villagers due to them not caring about their appearance or the lazy villagers hating what she eats, and she won't get along with jock villagers because they will question her on her physical appearance and they won't worry about fashion. However, she will get along with cranky villagers due to their similar rude personalities, and usually normal villagers as well.

House

In Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Gloria's house has many different types of furniture. She has an ebony piano, a pink velvet stool, a Gorgeous Desk, and a Simple Love Seat. She also owns a fireplace, which displays a Simple Kettle and a bread box. In the lower right corner of her room is a Retro Stereo that plays K.K. Milonga. Her wallpaper is the Plaza Wall, and her flooring is the Fancy Carpet.

In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Gloria's house vaguely resembles a courtyard. A large Stone Fountain can be seen, along with symmetrical Street Lamps and Garden Benches.
