Bella (イザベラ, Izabera) is a peppy mouse villager in the Animal Crossing series. As a peppy villager, she will appear excitable and friendly towards the player. She made her debut appearance in Animal Forest e+. Her name means "beautiful" in Italian. Her initial phrase relates to other mouse villagers and her species, which make the sound "squeak" or "eek". She has the music hobby.

Appearance

Bella in Dōbutsu no Mori e+

Bella is a white mouse. She has a blonde tuft of hair which droops straight downwards. Her tail is striped with the same color of yellow as her hair. The insides of her ears are pink, and she has large light pink cheek blushes with four pink freckles on each. Her eyes are large with two small eyelashes on the outer sides of each, and are shaped to appear almost angry or aggressive. Her eyes are also unable to fully close. She has a wide smile with two sharp incisor teeth which poke out in an overbite. The ends of her paws and ears are colored gray, and she has a black nose. Her initial shirt is the skull tee, which was changed to the tee dress in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Personality

Below is a brief description of the peppy personality. For more information, click here.

As a peppy villager, Bella will have the tendency to over-react in conversations about trivial subjects such as appearing in competitions and the chance of her losing. This sometimes triggers her to ask for a certain item of clothing or furniture that she needs to enter a competition. She, like other peppy villagers, will rarely be discouraged from doing anything, including the usual hobbies. She will also have a short attention span, which means she will soon forget arguments or tasks given to the player that were not completed. Bella may ask the player, "Sooo, how am I dressed today?" The player is presented with a slide-bar indicating Kinda slobby... and Super formal! Moving the bar close to Super formal! will make her happy, thus giving a good chance of receiving her picture (in Animal Crossing: Wild World only). She will get along well with jock and other peppy villagers.

House

In Animal Forest e+, Bella's house is the same house as Pompom except her wallpaper is changed to the concrete wall, and her flooring is the steel flooring. She also owns a reel-to-reel that plays K.K. Ballad.

In Animal Crossing: Wild World and Animal Crossing: City Folk, she has similar furniture to her Animal Forest e+ house. She now has a few pieces of the lovely series and the green series, as well as the flower items from her original house. She also retains her kitchen items, and her flooring and wallpaper. Her retro stereo plays K.K. Metal.

In Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Bella's house has changed slightly from her past houses. She still has her kitchen items, and one of her lovely items, the lovely bed. She also has a sleek table, which has some red tulips, and a makeup case on top of it. Her wallpaper is still the concrete wall, but her floor has changed to the ramshackle floor. Her retro stereo plays K.K. Metal.

In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Bella's house no longer has any pink furniture, instead featuring mostly black pieces. This includes a black bathtub, diner counter, mug, shower set, iron shelf and bunk bed. She has two red accent pieces in the form of a diner chair and mini-table, and now has a skull stereo, which still plays K.K. Metal like in previous entries. She retains her concrete wallpaper and now sports a skull flooring. Her interior is overall similar to Renée's, as they both have the same bed and workbench in the same placement, and both have furniture from the diner series.

Trivia

  • When she is surprised, her pupils turn pink.
  • Bella bears a resemblance to Avril Lavigne.
  • As of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Bella's picture quote was changed from "A head shot is worth a thousand words" to "A glamour shot is worth a thousand words". This is likely to break a possible pun about decapitation via a weapon, which is seen as violent in nature.
  • Another odd thing is that her quote uses the Australian/British spelling of "glamour" even though the rest of the game relies on US spellings.
  • The Korean translation for Bella is "이자벨" which means "Isabelle".
  • In Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Bella's preferred style is Rock, and her preferred color is Black. She dislikes the style Basic.
  • In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Bella's preferred styles are Active/Cool, and her preferred colors are Black/Purple.
