'''Lions''' are a species of [[villager]] in the {{SER}}. They are one of three types of [[cat|large cat]] that appear in the franchise. They have small ears set high on their heads, broad rectangular noses, and also possess tufts of fur at the end of their tails, similar to the [[elephant]]s, [[rhino]]s, and [[bovine]]s. So far, all lion villagers are male and all of them possess manes.

There are nine lion villagers so far. There are four [[jock]] lions, two [[cranky]] lions, one [[lazy]] lion, and two [[smug]] lions, one of whom, [[Leopold]], was previously a jock. Out of all the lions, only [[Aziz]] and [[Jubea]] have not reappeared since {{DnMe+}}.

==Trivia==
*Since [[Bud]], who debuted in {{DnM+}}, was the only lion to appear in {{WW}}, this makes lions one of two villager species in {{WW}} to not have any villagers returning from {{DnM}}. The other species with this distinction is the [[Bull]].
*Of all Lions available in New Leaf and New Horizons, all are born in Summer, specifically in July and August. This could be a reference to the astrological sign, Leo, of which members of this sign are born in the latter part of July to the middle of August.
