Clyde is a lazyhorsevillager in the Animal Crossing series. He first appeared in Animal Crossing: City Folk and has appeared in all subsequent games. His name may be derived from Clydesdale, a horse breed. His catchphrase comes from the noise horses make with their hooves when walking on a hard surface, clip-clop.
In New Horizons, Clyde has the Play hobby.
Clyde is a neon yellow horse with a dark brown crest and tail. He also has dark brown hair, which curls to one side. The inside of his ears match the pink color of the polka dots on his shirt. His coloration is similar to Al, who is a lime-green and dark green gorilla who also made his first appearance in City Folk. His eyes look like buttons. He initially wears the bubble gum shirt.

Clyde is a lazy villager, Clyde has a relaxed, laid-back lifestyle and will appear friendly toward the player. He often talks about food and is humorous or naïve during conversations. During conversations with other villagers, he generally gets along well with peppy, smug, and cranky villagers, while snooty and jock villagers may not get along with him due to their conflicting lifestyles. In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Clyde goes to sleep at 11 PM and wakes up at 8 AM.

Clyde's house has a very fruity theme. He has a pineapple bed, apple clock, pear dresser, and orange chair, as well as the fruity wallpaper and flooring. His stereo plays K.K. Dixie. now his stereo plays Neapolitan. His house looks a lot like Tangy's.
