Template:SwitchtabsThe Red Dragon is a dragon ally in Yoshi's Story. He appears in the first course of Magma Castle in the Finale, and helps Yoshi and other members of the Yoshi (species) ride across lava. Since the Red Dragon is invincible, he is not harmed by the lava and therefore can swim through it. The Red Dragon stays still until Yoshi jumps onto him, although once he starts swimming, he will not stop. Yoshi can jump off of him to collect Heart Coins and fruit and even defeat flying enemies. Yoshi will still have to be careful, because the dragon swims through the lava and if Yoshi doesn't jump he will get burned. They look somewhat like Valoo from The Legend of Zelda: the Wind Waker as well as Fracktail from Super Paper Mario.
