The Fire Flower is a power-up Mario and Luigi can collect, allowing them to shoot fireballs, which can harm enemies and melt frozen coins. They retain the ability to collect this power-up while riding Yoshi. In certain games, this is a progressive power-up, meaning it's a Super Mushroom while they're small, and a bigger power-up, in this case a Fire Flower, when they already have a power-up.
