Animal Crossing Wiki’s privacy policy helps the wiki ban spambots, users, and IP addresses.

Wiki Rules

1. No Vandalism

• Any deliberate attempt to damage or deface content on the site is strictly prohibited.
• This includes altering, deleting, or adding false information to pages.

2. No Spam

• Refrain from posting unsolicited advertisements, promotional content, or irrelevant links.
• Repetitive or mass postings will be removed, and the responsible accounts will be blocked.

3. Respectful Conduct

• Treat all users with respect and courtesy.
• Harassment, abusive language, or any form of bullying will not be tolerated.

4. Accurate Information

• Ensure that all contributions are factually accurate and well-researched.
• Cite reliable sources whenever possible to support your content.

5. No Plagiarism

• Do not copy content from other websites without proper attribution.
• Original content is highly encouraged and appreciated.

6. Privacy Protection

• Do not share personal information or private details of yourself or others.
• Respect the privacy of all users on the site.

7. Constructive Edits

• Make edits and changes with the intention of improving the quality of the site.
• Avoid making trivial or unnecessary changes.

8. Reporting Issues

• Report any instances of rule violations or suspicious activity to the sysops or administrators immediately.
• Use the designated channels for reporting and avoid public accusations.

9. No - in titles

• Putting - in titles gets an error, so you don’t want to do that. An alternative is to put no - or commas.

10. No renaming someone without permission (expect Spambots and indefinite blocked users)

• Renaming someone without permission (eg. Jared2222 to Halle2920) is discourteous. We do not want to do that without permission because it could log out other users. An alternative is to ask first.

11. Neutral point of view

• Articles should be at neutral point of view, so you don’t want to put (e.g. Julia is cute). If you do it repeatedly, you will be blocked for 3 days.

12. Avoid using “you” in articles

• Articles should avoid using “you” to avoid confusion. It’s better to use the player (e.g. You have to get 30 wood, 30 softwood, 30 hardwood, and 30 iron nuggets to unlock the shop.)

13. Inappropriate edit summaries

• Articles should NOT have inappropriate edit summaries, just like Cally on the fandom wiki. If a user sees one, it should be removed immediately by suppressors.

14. Using AI

• Articles should NOT use AI like ChatGPT, Gemini, or Copilot. That can give users inaccurate and poor writing.

• Articles and User pages should not have idaisy inappropriate images like okiplay or the sea otter song by pinkfong.
