Weeds are pest plants in the Animal Crossing series. They pop up in random spots throughout the town once in a while when the player is not playing. They lower the chance of getting a perfect town status. They also make the town ugly to the town's villagers and the neighbors might move away. To get rid of a weed, the player must either pull one out or dig one out. Due to these reasons, players usually consider weeds a big annoyance.
