“Be that way, you...meanie! You're no prize pig yourself! I am SO not talking to you anymore, bitty!”
― Ketchup, Animal Forest e+
Ketchup (ケチャップ, Kechappu) is a peppyduckvillager in the Animal Crossing series, originally exclusive to Animal Forest e+. She can only move into a village if the player has her e-Card. Her name comes from the food, tomato ketchup, due to her tomato-like appearance. She has the play hobby. She appears on the cover of Steep Hill.
Ketchup is a red duck with a yellow beak, orange cheeks, and green hair on her forehead that resembles leaves. She is meant to look like a tomato, which connects to her name, Ketchup. She initially wears the Flicker Shirt in Animal Forest e+, and the Rose Sky Tee in Animal Crossing: New Leaf. She, Frita, Carrot, Merengue, Zucker, Chadder, and Tangy are some of the villagers that directly resemble food.
In Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Ketchup's house has a backyard pizzeria theme, including the Whole Pizza, Cutting-Board Set, Brick Oven, four stacks of Firewood, Picnic Table, Worktable, and the Sparrow's Nest. She keeps the Ivy Wall from her previous home, and now has a Backyard Lawn for carpeting. If she gain a stereo, it plays Neapolitan.
In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Ketchup's house retains the same outdoor eatery theme it had in Animal Crossing: New Leaf, and has similar furniture. In the top-left corner of her house sits an Outdoor table with a Picnic basket and Handy water cooler on top of it, to the right of it is a Smoker and some Firewood, and her Brick oven is in the top-right corner. The center of the room contains a Red vinyl sheet, Log round table, Soup kettle, and a Director's chair. In the lower-left sits her Cute music player and Inflatable sofa, and the lower-right corner of the house is occupied by a Garden faucet. She once again keeps her Ivy Wall and Backyard Lawn flooring.
