It sounds like someone whistles after the marimba sounds. It may refer to an afterglow, when the light or radiance that remains in the sky after the sun has set, because four in the afternoon is when the sun has gone down and left orange overlapping the blue in the Animal Crossing series games. The song, however, is a dark, but charming mid-day melody.

In the GCN versions and N64, the theme is more restfull, similar to a boy coming home from school, or a person watching TV. The melody itself gives off the main vibe of it all.
