Tom is a blue cat with a white-tipped tail and muzzle. His hands and feet are also tipped white. The insides of his ears are colored strawberry pink. He has slanted yellow eyes with round black pupils, and his eyelids, when visible, are colored a pale blue. In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, he has subtle dark purple colored irises. He has a large gray mouth shaped like a sideways 3, and the white on his arms and legs comes up in a sharp zigzag pattern. His initial shirt is the BB tee, and he carries the Flame Umbrella on rainy days. He has a slight resemblance to Rosie, another cat villager.
Tom's home is very neat and oriental, containing furniture from the Exotic Series. It contrasts with his cranky personality. Upon obtaining a stereo, he will play K.K. Rally.
In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Tom's home is notably different, and now features multiple Race Cars, along with a Tire Stack. His floor is Paintball Flooring. In this game, if he has a stereo, it will play K.K. Rock.
Rumor has it that Tom is a former bantamweight Junior World Boxing Champion. What no one knows is that he still can't fall asleep without his favorite cat toy.

Tom was a world-class boxer in his younger days. But now, he's become a world-class alley cat. There's nothing he loves more than rooting through the dump, finding gifts for his favorite friends.
According to his e-Card bio, Tom was formerly a boxer, and while his boxing days are now behind him, the card states that he now enjoys combing the Dump to find gifts for his friends.
