Ace (フェザー fezā) is a jock bird villager that appeared in the earlier versions of the Animal Crossing series up until the Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2.0 update on November 5, 2021. His name possibly relates to a "flying ace," a term used for an accomplished pilot. Alternately, he could also be named after the ace of spades, judging from the fact that he starts out wearing a shirt with a single spade on it, like the playing card.

His Japanese name, Fezā, is "feather" written with katakana.

He shares his catchphrase, "ace", with Rod.

Appearance

Ace is a blue bird with cream-colored patches on his face, belly, and wings. His tail also has a yellow stripe. He has half-closed, beady eyes that make him look bored, and orange cheeks. His beak and feet are yellow. He initially wears the spade shirt.

Ace has several insects and fish in his house and listens to K.K. Parade on his dice stereo. He also has a Spaceman Sam, which may contribute to his slight space theme that his gyroids give off. His wallpaper is the kiddie wall.

Trivia

• Out of all characters who had ever made appearance in the Animal Crossing series, Ace is the first name in alphabetical order.
  • Since Ace has not appeared in any games since Animal Forest e+, he is no longer the first alphabetically in individual games, from Animal Crossing: Wild World onwards.
  • This title went first to Anchovy, and is currently held by Admiral, both of which are birds.
• According to his e-Card, Ace enjoys fishing. He never donates or sells them, however, and instead releases them back into the wild.
• Ace is the first villager in alphabetical order as of Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
