Summer is one of the four seasons in the SER. In the northern hemisphere, summer starts on June 1 and ends August 31. In the southern hemisphere, introduced since NH, summer starts on December 1 and ends on February 28/29 (depending on leap year).

The setting of summer is where both trees and grass are at their greenest. The weather is mainly sunny with the possibility of rainfall towards the middle of June / December to early July / January. In games prior to Animal Crossing: New Horizons, the sunshine allows the player to receive a tan when stood outside for long periods of time without holding an umbrella.
In the SER, this is the hottest time of the year, and this is when the trees and grass are at their greenest. This is also the ideal time for the grass in CF, where a new feature was introduced which allows the grass to gradually deteriorate when walked on.

Halfway through June in the northern hemisphere, heavy rainfall with possibly of thunderstorms will appear frequently and will last through the early part of July. For the rest of July / January, it is hot and dry, with occasional small bursts of rain. Neighbors during this period will complain that it is too hot. In August / February, it is usually humid and neighbors will complain about the "stickyness." It will sometimes rain, but when it does, it is usually around the end of the day or the afternoon. This usually brings up the chances of encountering a rainbow on these dates. By the end of season, both trees and grass will turn into a deeper or darker shade of green which will deteriorate as the next season begins.
Many new bugs and fish appear during this season, causing it to be the most diverse of all four. For bug-catchers, this season holds a prime opportunity to catch expensive bugs.

In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, beaches will occasionally spawn summer shells to use in DIY recipes. Additionally for the southern hemisphere, from December 15 to January 6, all existing cedar trees will be decorated with lights, and when shaken, produces red, blue, and gold ornaments for DIY projects. Rain occurs infrequently during this time in part due to festivities with Toy Day and New Year's.

Template:Months Template:Infobox Season Summer is one of the four seasons in the Animal Crossing series. In the northern hemisphere, summer starts on June 1 and ends August 31. Many new bugs and fish appear during this season, causing it to be the most diverse of all four. For bug-catchers, this season holds a prime opportunity to catch expensive bugs.
