5 P.M. is an hourly tune. The beginning of the the melody starts out happily, but starts to fade away sadly as the day ends. It uses an accordion, simple electronic drums, a vibraphone, etc. Comparing with other songs, this one is fairly short.
In the original Animal Crossing, the music for 5:00 P.M. is much different. It is given a more calm tune to it, with a sense of happiness. Compared to the newer versions, this one is more happy sounding and more enjoyable to listen to.
