Chow (チャウヤン Chauyan) is a cranky, bear villager from the Animal Crossing series series. He has appeared in every game so far. Chow's name comes from the spelling variation of the Chinese surname, Zhou - the fact that it is a Chinese (sur)name, relates to the character being a Panda Bear.
Appearance
Chow is a pink Panda Bear with black arms, eyes, and legs, and also has a mole under his left eye. His arms & legs are tipped with light-brown. His ears are light blue while black on the outside. Chow is initially seen wearing a Star shirt which you can buy at the Able Sisters' shop. He uses a ribbon umbrella when it rains.
Personality
Below is a brief description of the cranky personality. For more information, click here.
Although Chow is a cranky villager, he is actually friendlier and smarter than the standard cranky type. Chow is actually very popular with the peppy girls, not arguing with them. This is strange for a cranky villager since peppy villagers do not get on with cranky villagers. He will constantly ask you for a fishing contest. Sometimes when you have a fish in your inventory an exclamation point will appear above his head and he will ask for the fish. Then he will give you something back. He has harassed many normal residents by saying "So I heard you were planning a big wedding ceremony." It is also noted that his smile can be very unnerving, reminiscent of a crazy or disturbed person. Chow also likes pink furniture, he will ask you to get him some. Chow might be mean at first, but maybe when he moves away you might want him to move back. If you have more than one of your own characters in your house, sometimes he takes a real dislike to one or two of them, although he may be nice to the others. When talking to a normal villager he might call them a "doodie head".
House
In Animal Crossing (GCN), Chow has many items from the Exotic Series, such as the Exotic Chair and the Exotic Bed and with 3 gyroids, 2 Dingloids and a Tall Lullaboid. The Tall Lullaboid may seem ironic because of the fact Cranky villagers are rather quite tough. Chow has no Stereo, therefore no music is played.
In Animal Crossing: Wild World, Chow still has countless items from the Exotic Series with 1 gyroid, the Squat Dingloid. Chow does not have a Stereo, but if he may gain one, K.K. Steppe is played on it.
In Animal Crossing: City Folk, Yet again Chow has a lot of Furniture from the Exotic Series, only that the Dingloids have been removed and instead a Croakoid. Chow does not have a Stereo, but if he may gain one, K.K. Steppe is played on it.
