Peck is a bird villager with a jock personality. His name is a reference to the pecking of a bird and also the colloquial name for the pectoral muscles, as homage to his personality. He was introduced in NL. He appears on the album cover for Spring Blossoms.

He has the play hobby.

Appearance
Peck is a chocolate brown bird on the lower part of the head and has a white belly. His eyes is completely white, His beak and feet is pink. He also has red eyebrows. His initial clothing consists of a grey top. He is also based on a Java finch.
Personality
Jock

Peck has a jock personality and has a great interest in sports and bodybuilding. Jock villagers are hyperactive and motivated, but often come across as self-centered and dense. As a jock villager, Peck is very interested in his hobby, and may compete against the player at catching bugs and fish. Jock villagers get along with peppy, cranky, and sisterly villagers, but conflict with the laid-back lifestyle of lazy villagers. Snooty villagers may also be difficult to get along with for Peck.

House
In NL, Peck's room contains mostly classic and alpine furniture. He has a classic clock, a classic bed, a minimalist sofa, a foosball table, two potted plants, a mini sproid, a stereo playing Forest Life, and an air conditioner. His wallpaper is the citrus wall, and his flooring is the alpine carpet. Peck's room features a special furniture piece, the Diver Dan. Normally, this can only be purchased in medals on the island, however, if Peck invites the player to his house, they may be able to buy it from him.

In NH, Peck has many throwback-themed items, including the throwback dino screen, throwback race-car bed, throwback wall clock, and throwback wrestling figure. He also has a wooden-block stereo playing My Place and a wooden end-table from the wooden-block set, as well as a toy box, monstera plant, and wall-mounted TV. He uses the camo wall as wallpaper and the blue-paint flooring as flooring.
They are mainly differentiated from the generic bird villagers by their prominent necks and fan-like tail feathers. Not all villagers in this category necessarily resemble ostriches; villagers in this category can represent peafowl, cranes, pheasants, flamingos, and storks. The species contains villagers based on many other birds that are larger than typical passerines.

There are twelve ostriches so far, eight of which are female, and only four of which are male. Of the ostrich villagers, three are snooty, two are normal, two are peppy, one is lazy, two are jock, one is smug and one is sisterly. There are currently no cranky ostriches. It was released only in Japan for the Nintendo 64. The reason it was originally released as a Japan-exclusive game was because Nintendo was uncertain whether a worldwide release for the game was viable, due to it being text-heavy and containing Japanese references and holidays that were untranslatable at the time. It was later remade for the GameCube in 2002, and released worldwide as GC. Since 2010, a fully playable fan translation patch is in existence which ports dialog directly from the Nintendo GameCube release, but there are glitches with long blocks of text such as mail and the Bulletin Board being cut off suddenly.

Differences from nolink
*Punchy and Cheri were absent in nolink.
*The real-time clock must be set manually in-game, as the Nintendo 64 lacks an internal clock.
*The Able Sisters and their shop are not in nolink; thus, designs are not available for use and the player must rely on pre-made clothing and umbrella designs from Tom Nook.
*When fish are released in the N64 game, they bounce along the ground and into the water instead of diving straight in.
*Insects are not restricted by acres and can freely wander into other acres. Banded Dragonflies and similar airborne insects cannot fly too far out to sea in nolink, but in GC there is no limit.
*Some of the wallpapers and carpets from nolink were redesigned or removed in GC.
*Some of the clothing from nolink, for example, the N Logo shirt (G Logo in nolink), are redesigned or removed in nolink.
*Two sets of stationery from nolink, the New Year's Card and the Fortune Paper, are redesigned.
*The holidays from nolink are either changed or removed in GC.
*Tom Nook wears slightly different uniforms.
*The Wishing Well from GC is a Bell Shrine in nolink. On New Year's Day, instead of tossing a coin in the fountain, the player shakes the thick rope in the middle and the bells ring.
*The input keyboard from GC is a dial that contains the letters, numbers, and symbols that appear on the screen in nolink.
*In GC, Gulliver would give the player a rare furniture piece for saving him. In nolink, he gives the player a random furniture piece.
*In GC, three items could be stored in container furniture such as dressers, wardrobes, etc. In nolink, only one item can be stored in these kinds of furniture.
*In GC, a player's initial home had a wooden box that had a college rule journal on top. In nolink, this is not included, so this means this feature was either not included or both items have to be bought from Nook.
*In GC, the catalog has a section called "Handhelds" where umbrellas, pinwheels, fans, balloons and tools could be ordered. In nolink, this section is called "Umbrellas" and only umbrellas can be ordered from that section. This means pinwheels, fans, balloons, and tools cannot be ordered from the catalog.
*In GC, the player could store multiple airchecks in stereos, radios, etc. In nolink, only one aircheck could be stored in them.
*Buildings such as Tom Nook's shop, the Post Office, and the Dump have slightly redesigned logos in GC.
*There is no Museum, thus there is no Blathers. The Faraway Museum still exists, and fossils can be sent there for identification, and from there can be either displayed in the player's house, sold, or given away.
*Taking a trip in nolink requires the player have one Controller Pak to save travel data on, and two Controller Paks are needed to travel directly. In GC, an extra Memory Card is used to save travel data, and the player can travel directly to the other town if two Memory Cards with town data are in use at the same time.
*e-Reader support was added in later Japanese and North American releases of GC, thus, there is no E-reader functionality in nolink.
*Mayor Tortimer was not yet introduced into the series until the Gamecube games, and therefore no gifts could be obtained from him on special events.
*During the Cherry Blossom Festival, all the villagers sit on mats.
*Instead of buying stationery as a pack of four, only one piece of paper can be bought at a time.
*In GC, a Money Rock appears for every player in a village each day. In nolink there is only one money rock per town per day, no matter how many people are playing.
*Kapp'n and the Island do not exist in nolink, being exclusive to the Gamecube games.
*Villagers do not react to being struck by a net.
*Blanca is not present.
*The live version of several K.K.Songs have been changed. "K.K. Ballad" has a different melody in the main verses, while "DJ K.K." uses a different set of guitar riffs, which were most likely changed due to their similarities with the song "Get Ready for This" by 2 Unlimited.
*Items look different when on the ground. Stationery is a paper bag with a leaf on it, clothing are treasure chests, and tools are toolboxes. These aesthetics were later re-used for WW.
*Mystery items are for sale at Nook's Cranny. (early January)
*Bluebear's and Stella's original designs were also slightly different than now, and their appearances were tweaked to the current design in and GC. Some of the other villagers have under gone these tweaks as well.
*There were no coconuts in nolink.
*When getting bad fortunes identified by Katrina, slightly different effects happen. This can include tripping and falling half as frequently or less malfunctioning of the friendship of other villagers.
*Only seven Famicom games can be obtained: Balloon Fight, Clu Clu Land, Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr. Math, Golf (video game), Pinball (video game), and Tennis (video game).
*Chip has a slightly different design with more slanted eyes, which was likely changed in Animal Crossing and the rest of the game series to avoid the potential racist connotations of a Japanese caricature.
Appearance
Ed is a bright teal horse with bright yellow hair which covers his entire right eye and he has a white muzzle. He has purple eyelids with long eyelashes. Long lashes are often used to mark animated characters as female, but he is male. Ed has a blue tail with a long, yellow, fuzzy tuft. In PG, he wears a mod top, a shirt with large pink and purple stripes. In CF, he wears a lite polka shirt, a shirt that has several colored large polka dots.

Personality
PG and CF
Jock
Ed has a jock personality and has a great interest in sports and bodybuilding. Jock villagers are hyperactive and motivated, but often come across as self-centered and dense. As a jock villager, Ed is very interested in his hobby, and may compete against the player at catching bugs and fish. Jock villagers get along with peppy, cranky, and sisterly villagers, but conflict with the laid-back lifestyle of lazy villagers. Snooty villagers may also be difficult to get along with for Ed.
NL Onwards
Smug

Smug villagers are very polite, kind, and gentleman-like. As a smug villager, Ed will get along easily with other villagers. Smug villagers get along well with most villagers, their personality appearing to be a mix of the other personality types. Smug villagers will stroke their egos from time to time, going on about how cool they are.

Generally, Ed will get along with lazy, normal, snooty, and peppy villagers, and may conflict with cranky villagers.

Generally, Ed will get along with lazy, normal, snooty, and peppy villagers, and may conflict with cranky villagers.
is a peppy horse villager who appears in the SER. Her name is fairly ordinary, and may not relate to anything in her species or personality, though some speculate "victory" may have some involvement in her name, considering she looks like a racehorse. Another idea is that her name comes from the Victorian Derby, or that she may be based on the famous Victoria Park Horse. She may be named after Victoria, the Roman goddess of victory and speed. Her initial phrase, "sugarcube", relates to the horse species, where sugar cubes are given to a horse as a treat. She was originally in , and later reappeared in WW and all games after. She has the fitness hobby.

Appearance
Victoria is a chestnut-colored race horse wearing a yellow blinker hood with a yellow stripe running down the middle and wears a one-ball shirt, which matches her blinker hood. She has large, round, dark eyes with long eyelashes and her lower nose and ears are darker than the rest of her head. In , Victoria wears the 6 Ball Shirt, a shirt that fits her blinker hood and while in later games, she wears the Number 1 shirt.

Personality
Peppy villagers like Victoria appear to be in a good mood often and are easy to become friends with. As a peppy villager, Victoria will have the tendency to over-react in conversations about trivial subjects, and will usually be over-excited to see the player or other villagers. This villager, like other peppy villagers, will rarely be discouraged from doing anything, including the usual hobbies. Peppy villagers dream of becoming famous in the future and read Ms. Nintendique, an unseen magazine read by snooty, normal, and other peppy villagers in the Animal Crossing series. Peppy villagers will also have a very short attention span, which means they soon forget some arguments or tasks given to the player which weren't completed. Victoria may easily get upset in conversation when the wrong things are said. She will get along well with other villagers, particularly lazy, normal, jock, sisterly, and other peppy villagers, but she may annoy and upset cranky and snooty villagers, whose personalities differ to hers. Due to the nature of peppy villagers, she may mention how "old" or "boring" cranky villagers are compared to her opposing, upbeat personality.

House
In , Victoria has the same furniture styling as Aurora's house, only that she has a backyard wallpaper and the daisy meadow as her choice of flooring and wallpaper and plays K.K. Country on a Red Boombox. In , she has four gyroids: the Lullaboid, Dingloid, Harmonoid, and the Nebuloid.

In both WW and CF, she has a lovely couch, two tulip chairs, a tulip table, a watermelon table, two storefronts, a watering trough (from the same series), and a kitschy clock. She has K.K. Country playing on a red boom box.

In NL, Victoria's house looks completely different from her past few appearances. While K.K. Country still plays on her Phonograph, her furniture choice has changed. She now has a Green Table, a Cactus, and her wallpaper/flooring choice has changed as well. She owns a One-Ball Tee as well.

In NH, her house changes again: it's now a horse racing course. K.K. Adventure plays in her room if she gets a stereo.
